With its attention to both to normal developmental issues and problems associated with physical, emotional, and mental disorders, the specialisation holds a unique perspective in the broader practice-based areas of psychology.
Currently, psychology isn’t a very popular career choice in India, resulting in the lack of a large number of Psychologists in the country. This challenge has been created as an initial overview of the general practice of a counselling psychologist.
Coming to the Menternship,
Your task is to identify a person in your immediate environment/extended circle, who is in need. By need, it can be a person struggling to make a career decision, it can be one who is struggling with his/her relationship with their parents or it can also be someone struggling with loneliness. Once you find this person:
- Understand their problem completely.
- Suggest solutions to them on the basis of your analysis & research.
- Get to know that person better.
