CARPED is an NGO with 25 years of experience in action research, working with tribes & people in remote areas for comprehensive development of children. The action research group emphasizes on making policies more people oriented. 
The objective of CARPED is to facilitate a better quality of life in all its realms through community mobilisation, participatory governance and development of marginalised communities in the society based on sustainable natural resource management. Active in the areas of preventing displacement of the tribal communities, environment education and legal aid, this group initiated activities in Kowdipally, Medak Dist. focusing on child labour, child rights and child education. 
Their work with handloom weavers in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh is focused on decent wages for the weavers, mobilising the weavers for effective implementation of welfare measures. CARPED also works on health and nutrition issues, preventive health and accessing healthcare services of the Primary Health centres in slums.
